PRAYER SERIES 1: YOUR WILL-POWER AND PRAYER

We are starting a new series on prayer. Many untold hardships that people encounter in life can be overcome by holding unto God in PRAYER. Prayer and faith go together. Willingness to receive God’s blessings begins with faith in God, and then we pray because we believe God hears us. We are told in the Epistle to the Hebrews:

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” Hebrews 11:6).

Both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible give records of some instances when people showed their willingness to receive divine healing or deliverance. God says in the Book of Isaiah:

“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:9).

Jesus said to the woman with the issue of blood who received instant healing from her twelve yearlong hemorrhages;

“Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague,” (Mark 5:25-34).

God’s covenant on prayer is that whatever you ask in the name of Jesus shall be given to you. “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you,” (Matthew 7:7).

Your will power is your desire to get released from undesirable situations; to obey God’s command, and do it. If you believe in the Word of God and the miracles that were performed in the past and are still being performed today through Jesus Christ, your desire to receive miracles on your situations will rise, and it will have a great impact in the outcome of your prayers. The Lord is waiting for you today if you will take a step of faith and open your mind to Him on your situation.

Blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, had a lot of besetting hindrances that could disallow him to reach Jesus; but he continued to shout, ‘Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me,” until Jesus attended to him (Mark 10:46-52). This shows great zeal and perseverance to receive God’s miracle. Willingness to wait upon God until we get our miracle is an antidote against the spirit of doubt and fear. Anyone who reads about the miracles that God performed in the times past will appreciate the supernatural mighty power of the Almighty and will learn to hold on God for a miracle. There are many views about the efficacy of prayers but the fact remains that, if you pray “in Jesus’ name,” God honors it. God will not force anything on you, He is waiting to listen to your request; be willing and obedient to the leading of the Spirit of God. Pray and God will answer you.

Your spiritual well-being is our concern. You can send your prayer requests through this link, and we will be in prayer with you.

About Gabriel & Grace Akinbode

My wife and I realized the need to have a website where our ministries and activities would be made available to a wider range of people and also have an on hand record for people at any time. It seems we are engaging in undocumented efforts when we move from church to church without being able to retrieve all the biblical studies, exhortations, and other relevant writings. We believe that from this website we would make a great impact in the lives of many people through Bible Studies, inspiring messages, testimonies of God’s faithfulness, ministrations, and prayers. People will be able to catch the blessings and benefits that God has for them. This website is a means of obeying the injunction of our Lord who says, “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). MISSION STATEMENT To reach out to the world with the gospel of Christ; sharing the good news that God has for people in whatever position or situation they may be, and to share our personal experiences about the faithfulness of God.
