Children of God Do Not Sleep 10

We have been discussing for a while in this series.  Before we hold it till another time, let us examine the seventh and the last question that the people on the ship with Jonah asked him before casting him into the sea.

“What shall we do to you, that the sea may quiet down for us?”  Jonah 1:11.

Of all the questions they asked him, this one, perhaps, was the most relevant to their situation.  However, the former questions led them to identifying Jonah as the cause of their trouble on the sea.  Knowing this that it was because of him personally that the storm was raging, Jonah willingly surrendered himself to be cast into the sea.  Although the people tried hard to avoid throwing him out, when it became apparently inevitable, and they were about to lose their lives, they complied with his suggestion and threw him overboard.

Like the case of these travelers, many people are troubled today but do not know the root of their calamities.  Maybe you are troubled here and there; you continue to ‘throw’ your wares ‘over-board,’ wasting your resources on sicknesses, court cases and all sorts of catastrophic occurrences.  Have you ever stopped and asked God the reason why all these misfortunes are persistent in your life?  If your source of inquiry rests on anything less than God, you might discover your trouble continues until God’s intervention is sought.  Truly, some cases are natural.  But did you know many a time, causes of problems are supernatural?  It takes the power of God to discover, break, and reverse supernatural curses.

When God proffers solutions to your problems, the raging sea of your life will become calm.  God the Owner is still at work in the generation of his creation.  He has given all power to Jesus Christ and has “highly exalted Him and given Him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow: of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”  Philippians 2:9-11.  This is all you need for your deliverance from every shackle of the devil, go to the Lord today with your struggle.  He has the best solution for you on what you are going through.

About Gabriel & Grace Akinbode

My wife and I realized the need to have a website where our ministries and activities would be made available to a wider range of people and also have an on hand record for people at any time. It seems we are engaging in undocumented efforts when we move from church to church without being able to retrieve all the biblical studies, exhortations, and other relevant writings. We believe that from this website we would make a great impact in the lives of many people through Bible Studies, inspiring messages, testimonies of God’s faithfulness, ministrations, and prayers. People will be able to catch the blessings and benefits that God has for them. This website is a means of obeying the injunction of our Lord who says, “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). MISSION STATEMENT To reach out to the world with the gospel of Christ; sharing the good news that God has for people in whatever position or situation they may be, and to share our personal experiences about the faithfulness of God.
